Position Location: Indianapolis Plant – Indianapolis, IN

Primary Function

Ingredion has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated individual as a Quality Assurance Intern.  This position is responsible for completing several small quality assurance projects.  The intern will be responsible for applying concepts learned in quality or food science related classes to actual manufacturing of food ingredients. Project status reports will be required.

 

Key Deliverables

 

  • Responsible for personal safety
  • Attends daily leadership team meeting
  • Attends monthly safety meeting
  • Understand use of process technologies in food manufacturing
  • Identifies and supports continuous improvement initiatives
  • Offers new ideas and thinks outside the box
  • Responsible for monitoring quality standards to ensure compliance in production
  • Support production and quality teams on the investigations for customer related issues
  • Identify growth and cost savings projects to contribute directly to the productivity and costs associated with manufacturing
  • Create an environment conductive to teamwork with other members of the quality team as well as other functional groups in the plant.
  • Able to produce and give effective presentations

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

 

  • Completed at least two years of coursework towards a Bachelor’s of Science in Food Science or other science related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Assertive, creative, energetic, and positive thinking
  • Demonstrate analytical problem solving skills
  • Developed multi-tasking and time management skills
  • PC skilled with word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet experience
