Primary Function

Ingredion has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated individual as an Operations Lead Intern. This position will work closely with an experienced Operations Lead as well as others on the Operations Team and will be responsible for applying concepts that focus on people skills and building trust throughout the team. Focused projects will be completed in specific areas to help optimize and streamline the jobs of the hourly workforce with a heavy emphasis on team work and collaboration with the hourly workforce. In addition to this, focus will be placed on techniques to manage the hourly workforce in accordance with daily productivity, quality and safety goals as well as normal daily operational activities around production scheduling and maintenance.

 

Key Deliverables

  • Responsible for personal safety as well as the safety of plant personnel and contractors.
  • Support safety, environmental, and quality initiatives, including performing and assisting in investigations & corrective actions
  • Ensure workforce compliance with all plant quality procedures and guidelines
  • Support plant productivity and production scheduling requirements
  • Remove obstacles to help productivity of hourly workforce
  • Support maintenance requirements and cost control initiatives
  • Identify and execute on improvement projects that impact the hourly workforce position
  • Offer new ideas and think outside-the-box
  • Ensure team adaptability, flexibility and readiness to change
  • Professionally lead and manage production requirements with the hourly workforce
  • Create environment conducive to teamwork
  • Participate and lead improvement projects

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

  • Completed at least two years of course work towards a BS Degree in Engineering/Supply Chain/Business or Industrial Mgt or similar
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated analytical problem solving skills
  • Assertive, creative, energetic and positive thinking
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be available to work any shift
