Position Location: Cedar Rapids Plant – Cedar Rapids, IA

Primary Function

Ingredion has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated individual as a Process Engineering Intern.  This position is responsible for completing several small process engineering projects.  The engineer will be responsible for applying concepts learned in engineering and engineering-related classes to applications in the field.  Submission for funding of projects as well as project status reports will be required.

 

Key Deliverables

 

  • Responsible for personal safety as well as the safety of any contractors working on projects.
  • Complete projects with zero safety or environmental incidents.
  • Attends daily leadership team meeting
  • Attends monthly safety meeting
  • Supports continuous improvement projects and initiatives
  • Offers new ideas and thinks outside the box
  • Responsible for concept, design, estimating, proposal submittal, purchasing, installation, start-up, commissioning, documentation, training, and closure of small capital projects
  • Identify growth and cost savings projects to contribute directly to the productivity and costs associated with manufacturing
  • Create an environment conducive to teamwork with other engineers and employees
  • Able to produce and give effective presentations

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

 

  • Completed at least two years of coursework towards a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Assertive, creative, energetic, and positive thinking
  • Demonstrate analytical problem solving skills
  • Developed multi-tasking and time management skills
  • PC skilled with word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet experience
