Corporate Strategy Senior Analyst


Position Location: Westchester, IL

Primary Function

The Corporate Strategy Senior Analyst will work with other members of the Corporate Strategy team as well as senior members of other functions to help drive robust and detailed strategies for our businesses and support the execution of M&A projects across the globe..


Supervision: No direct reports


Key Deliverables

  • Work closely within the Corporate Strategy team to meet Ingredion’s M&A goals
  • Work with the rest of the team as well as the businesses in identifying new acquisition targets
  • Conduct target or market assessment studies independently with limited guidance and supervision
  • Assist the execution of M&A projects end to end with particular focus on due diligence and valuation
  • Co-drive and guide aspects of annual strategic planning process
  • Assist the Corporate Strategy team with data analysis and presentation preparation to support the development of business strategies for various business units including:
    • Business case preparation
    • Market sizing
    • Financial modeling/valuation
    • Competitive insight
  • Prepare aspects of business updates and proposals for the ELT and Board of Directors
  • Assist the Corporate Strategy team with data analysis, financial analysis and presentation preparation to support prospecting and execution of M&A
  • Work with the VP and Director of Corporate Strategy to assist in the strategic planning processes of our global specialty businesses . Activities included, but are not limited to:
    • Developing market and competitor intelligence
    • Understanding of key macro and global trends and drivers
    • Historical financial analysis
    • Assist in the overall development of the strategic plan
  • Engage and communicate effectively at all levels, internally and externally
  • Presentations to leadership: Support the research and development of presentations for Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors
  • Guide and mentor more junior analysts on the team.


Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business , Operations or related area. MBA is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of work experience. Consulting, investment banking or equivalent corporate finance/development experience with M&A or strategy exposure is a plus
  • Experience with financial modeling and/or strategy assessment as well as project management (i.e., M&A models, structuring organic growth projects, PMO)
  • Strategic mindset with excellent analytical skills and solid financial acumen (i.e. advanced accounting and financial modeling skills)
  • Sound judgment and a willingness to resolve issues and problems in a timely manner.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Financial acumen (can read P&L; has understanding of basic accounting)
  • Skilled with Excel and Power Point
  • Experience in Food & Beverage and/or Consumer Products is a plus
  • Fast learner, willing to take initiative and full ownership of the work
  • Availability to travel up to 20%, domestic and internationally
  • Qualified candidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the US.  The company does not plan to provide work visa sponsorship for this role.
