Title: Lean Specialist
Location: Westchester, IL
Ingredion is hiring a Lean Specialist to assist with the implementation of Lean goals and strategies for improving the operations and processes within the North America Region. Partner with the NA business leaders, functions and teams on projects and work which advances a lean culture within the organization.
As a Lean Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
Support the execution of the Lean enterprise transformation initiative in coordination with the Director of Lean Enterprise Transformation.
Develop systems to track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Lean and Continuous Improvement projects and other team based initiatives.
Lead Lean projects that deliver process improvements and financially contribute to the business, leveraging the results throughout the organization.
Support functional Lean teams as required.
Conduct training at appropriate levels in support of lean specialists or team based projects.
Foster a data driven culture of Lean throughout NA Region.
Support the development and maintenance of the Ingredion Lean Enterprise Playbook
Maintain and continue to expand personal knowledge of the Lean methodology and tools.
Assist in developing, maintaining, and updating training materials and coordinate the training efforts for lean specialists and lean practitioners.
Support ongoing development and maintenance of training materials for LSS belts.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams as well as site/functional leaders to identify initiatives and establish priorities based on NA business objectives.
Communicate the status and results of lean projects to key stakeholders.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with and between team members, plants, support functions, etc.
Mentor, coach and train lean project team members to further develop capabilities and positive project outcomes.
The Lean Specialist position is well-suited for you if you:
Qualified candidates will have:
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, STEM, or another technical field
Willing to travel up to 30%
Knowledge of Corn Wet Milling or other unit-based operations a plus.
Leverages understanding of the business operating environment and customer needs to deliver results effectively and within budget.
Consistently focuses on achieving strong results, despite balancing multiple, complex demands.
Eagerly implements improvements by keeping an open mind and actively incorporating changes.
Proactively helps others and responds to their business needs to build strong working relationships.
Seeks opportunities (training, projects, etc.) that develop knowledge and skills to become a stronger contributor.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in operations, a technical, or a business role.
Certified as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams
Ability to work with and interact with all levels of the organization.
