SUMMARY: The Senior Demand Planning Analyst position is the primary liaison between the sales and supply chain organizations regarding customer demand. The role will assume principal responsibility for all forecasting functions across the entire TIC product line and customer base. The position will create and maintain forecast models that combine business intelligence, statistics, and other information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, operations, and others. The Senior Demand Planning Analyst will also own, maintain, and act as the subject matter expert for any demand planning software used in the organization. The position will also be responsible for the development, coordination, and improvement of the S&OP process. Other internal reporting and analysis needs will be required ad hoc.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Develop demand forecasts at varying levels of aggregation and time horizons for all TIC products, customers, and locations.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Monitor, track, and drive the timely decision making process for all sales opportunities to support companywide inventory and production related goals.
  • Serve as the companywide owner and subject matter expert for Demand Planning software.
  • Collaborate with the commercial organization to ensure there is consensus regarding forecasts and the information driving them.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to research forecast drivers and reconcile statistical forecast variances in order to fine tune the forecast model.
  • Attend and participate in critical customer visits or sales meetings with other members of the commercial team in order to gather additional information to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Lead the development, coordination, and improvement of all S&OP-related items.
  • Identify and recommend enhancements to the demand planning process and the overall supply chain strategy to improve departmental and organizational performance.
  • Assist with the development and tracking of key performance indicators for Demand Planning. This will include KPI’s surrounding forecast accuracy, sales, growth, inventory turns, and other company or Supply Chain-related metrics.
  • Develop demand planning standard operating procedures and training documents to assist in day-to-day operations. Update and ensure all documentation and procedures are recorded in a central location (Policy Tech).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Follow all company safety rules in performing job duties.
  • Coordinate corporate metrics alignment between operations and finance as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree – Supply Chain, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations, or Business Related fields are preferred.

At least 3 – 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Planning, and/or Analytics.

Experience working with IT to implement business software.

Strong IT acumen and communication skills.

A proven background in statistical analysis.

Understanding of forecasting software tools.

Familiarity with regression modeling.

Experience using business intelligence systems.

Strong business acumen.

Past roles in food or chemical industry.

 

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Must be computer literate.

Must be highly proficient in the Microsoft suite, especially Microsoft Excel and Access.

Must have an attention to detail, including a thorough process of review and quality checking all key deliverables.

Must be able to work in a collaborative environment across business functions.

Must be highly motivated and independent with a strong work ethic.

Must be able to pioneer systems and build processes from the ground up.

Must be able to lead and drive meetings, even presenting to members of senior management.
