Title:  Operations Manager

Location: Winston-Salem, NC

 

Ingredion is hiring a Operations Manager to Manage the Winston-Salem Plant Operations, which include all aspects of Wet Starch, Dry Starch, Co-Products, Refinery, Liquid Dextrose, Production Planning and Logistics, Safety, Quality, costs and production.  In this role, the candidate will ensure stability of day-to-day plant operations and drive strategies to support continuous improvement through the development of robust management systems and capital investment. Lead and develop an organization which is highly skilled, motivated and performs as a results oriented team.

 

As a Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading process operations in execution of best in class safety and environmental management systems to maintain the focus of an injury and environmental deviation free plant.

  • Managing operations of the Winston-Salem plant to consistently achieve its goals and budgets at the lowest cost while maintaining and improving all Quality and GMP standards.

  • Managing the process for meeting production goals and forecasts that meet or exceed plan profit performance.

  • Managing cost performance and establish systems that provide quick decision making tools in order to continuously improve annual manufacturing expense spending ($46MM).

  • Working with the Winston-Salem team to prioritize the annual capital expenditure plan to ensure continued operations and reduction of the manufacturing expense structure.

  • Providing accurate and timely reporting on plant output and communicate concerns regarding future delivery to site leadership.

  • Ensuring that the organization is operating within Federal, State, Local regulations and corporate policies.

  • Establising clear and meaningful goals for the organization which align with Ingredion’s strategies and drive continuous improvement.

  • Aligning CI goals of the site to Ingredion standards delivering 2% savings on controllable spend.

  • Driving the CX to CI connection within the plant enhancing the Customer and Employee experience.

  • Identifying and leveraging innovative approaches to product line diversification, operational and organizational opportunities in order to streamline the workforce to drive synergies, reduce costs and increase efficiency.  

 

The Operations Manager position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Establish challenging goals for personal and group accomplishment.

  • Lead and sustain high performing teams through hiring, succession, and developmental opportunities.

  • Lead direct reports with appropriate coaching to build their skills and decision making process

  • Lead Performance Management activities at all operational units to ensure consistency of evaluation.

Qualified candidates will have:

 

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 10-15 years of significant experience managing in a manufacturing plant or a major operation within a manufacturing plant. Broad understanding of Corn Wet Milling and the operations associated with the production of Starch and Sweeteners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to conduct effective meetings, ability to effect change through persuasion and communicate in a clear and concise manner to all levels of the organization.

  • Project management skills, including multi tasking and time management.

  • Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking and problems solving skills.
