    Business Unit:           Corporate Engineering (Capital Procurement)


    The Manager, Capital Procurement - Corporate, will apply their knowledge and skills of strategic sourcing and category management to procuring Capital Equipment and Services. This is a key corporate role and an opportunity for someone who enjoys being part of dynamic sourcing team working alongside corporate engineers utilizing cross-functional support of Legal, Tax, Insurance, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Finance Groups. Application of business acumen in the creation and utilization of internal spend analysis, external market benchmarking and trends, technology assessment to meet specification needed for Capital Expenditure/Manufacturing supplier categories.  In this role, the individual is expected to have prior knowledge in bridging commercial and legal agreement terms, includes risk management with eventual contract execution. The analytics combined with subject matter expertise particularly negotiation skills will be instrumental in the definition and execution of strategic sourcing plans from ideation to contract completion.  This individual will compose and effectively communicate project charters, develop KPI’s, execute sourcing and track progress against plan.  Besides procurement knowledge, the candidate is expected to have working knowledge of industrial and process equipment, quality essentials, food safety, occupational health and safety.

    Supervision: No direct reports at this time

    As a Manager, Capital Procurement, your responsibilities will include:

    • Develop and launch RFQ/RFP events, analyze vendor responses to level all qualified RFP responses on pricing and all qualitative metrics
    • Develop and execute purchase contracts for Capital Goods and Services utilizing Ingredion purchase agreement templates
    • Work closely on sourcing events with Project Managers and stakeholders from Ingredion manufacturing plants globally
    • Develop and execute detailed negotiation strategy on each assignment
    • Conduct analyses in support of supplier negotiations. Create supporting data and materials for stakeholders in negotiation preparation
    • Conduct market analysis and qualify vendors (current, prospective) based on historical spend and market dynamics
    • Creation of competitive environment among vendors, strive for vendor neutral specification and preparation of all needed business documentation
    • Setting clear goals on price, schedule, quality, service, reliability, risk in delivery, performance and striving for consensus
    • Providing insights on category spend and savings opportunities based on experience working with other category teams or industry best practices
    • The nature of the position at times requires working outside of the normal working hours and business travel on an as needed basis


    The Manager, Capital Procurement - Corporate  position is well-suited for you if you:

    Qualified candidates will have:

    • Bachelor’s degree with focus in supply chain or business or engineering management
    • CPSM/CSCP certification is a plus
    • Green Belt or Continuous Improvement certification is a plus
    • A minimum of three to five years of demonstrated analytical experience
    • Knowledge of strategic sourcing applied to Industrial process and food manufacturing categories
    • Negotiations in corporate setting
    • Proficient in use of e-sourcing tools, and familiarity with reverse auctions

    • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office tools

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Access and SharePoint

    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

    • Effective business report creation and presentation skills

    • Knowledgeable in using SAP
